Overview

This Advanced Diploma qualification is designed to equip participants with the required knowledge and skills to advance their career and to function as managers of program areas, projects or delivery of services in a variety of community services industry sectors including community houses and volunteer services/programs.

Online training is available for this course.
Duration and Delivery

This qualification is delivered over a period of 1100 hours. Participants enrolled in this course will have up to 62 weeks to complete the course requirements. This includes 7 weeks of end-of-year holidays and Easter break.

Format

This Advanced Diploma level qualification will be delivered using a blended delivery model with a combination of online learning and face to face delivery. Educators will be available to provide necessary additional support on request.

Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of workers who are middle managers or managers across a range of community sector organisations.  These people work independently and report to executive management, directors or boards of management. They undertake a range of functions requiring the application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with the organisation’s goals and strategic directions

  • Be actively seeking employment in community and/or residential setting
  • Have no formal qualifications in aged care or community services
  • Wish to review/update knowledge and practical experience

Recognition

Students may be able to shorten the length of their studies through the recognition of past experience and/ or qualifications gained elsewhere.  Applications can be made for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer.

These will be assessed according to the college’s policy & procedures to determine if/how much advanced standing will be granted.

This qualification holds National Recognition.

Pre-Requisites

The minimum age for eligible participants is 18 years and above. Proficiency in English is required to meet Industry standards. A proficiency in English equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (Overall)

*Although LLN test is not an entry requirement, students are asked to undertake the same so appropriate academic support can be ensured throughout the course of study.
