Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management

Course Outline - BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management

Duration and Delivery:

This course will be delivered over a period of 770 nominal hours. Participants will have one year to complete this qualification.

Format:

This course will be delivered using a blended delivery model with a choice of combination of online learning and/or a mixed delivery of online and some video conferencing or workshop based delivery. Educators will also be available to provide necessary support.

Location:

Level 1/169 Plenty Road, Preston, VIC 3072. Practical placement locations as negotiated by ALACC with individual Providers.   

Purpose:

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters. They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

Who May Attend:

This qualification is beneficial for any person who may be:

·         Actively seeking employment in any business sector

·         Have no formal qualifications

·         Wish to review/update knowledge and practical experience

·         Seeking a new career

Recognition:

Students may be able to shorten the length of their studies through the recognition of experience and/or qualifications gained elsewhere. Applications can be made for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer. These will be assessed according to the college’s policy & procedures to determine if/how much advanced standing will be granted. This course holds National Recognition.

Assessment:      

Assessments will be conducted to determine the achievement of competency-based learning outcomes. Assessments may include written questions, case study/scenarios, projects, reports, portfolios, presentations. Demonstrations/ observations..

Pre-Requisites:

The minimum age for eligible applicants is 18 years.

Proficiency in English is required to meet Industry standards.

A proficiency in English equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (Overall)

*Although LLN test is not an entry requirement, students are asked to undertake the same so appropriate academic support can be ensured throughout the course of study.
